Places and times seen in Munakata city
In Munakata it is a summer bird. It is seen in the Munakata Okinoshima between April and September.
Since detailed investigation on habitat status has not yet been conducted, the inhabitant situation on Munakata Okinoshima is hardly known, but it is estimated that dozens of breeds are breeding.
Characteristic
Total length 22 cm. Small owls.
Whole body brown with complex worm pattern. There is a small feather horn that looks like an ear, and the iris is yellow. "Coco, Koho" and crying in a distinctive voice. It closely resembles Konohazuku which fly to the mountains, but Ryukyu Konoha is slightly bigger and has a different voice.
Habit
It flew from the flat ground to mountain forests, mansion forests, etc. and lives with a single bird. During the day resting in the shade of trees and dwarfs, we start to work at dusk, catch insects mainly and eat geckos etc.
The male sings "Kokhokko" and the female crowns such as "Muir".
distribution
Inhabiting in the Southwestern Islands south of Tokara Islands. It is a species that inhabits here only worldwide.
