Places and times seen in Munakata city

It is a traveling bird in Munakata, and it can be seen in paddy field etc. in the spring and autumn migration (April - May, August to October). Especially, before and after rice planting, sometimes you see it singly or in pairs.

Characteristic

The total length is 35 cm.
In the summer wings, the chest is grayish brown from the head, and blackish brown vertical spots are dense. The top is light gray brown, blackish brown axillary spots and white feather edges, and the underside of the body is white. The beak is warped slightly above black and the base is pale. Some feet are green and blue but some yellowish.
