Places and times seen in Munakata city

In Munakata it is an abandoned bird, and it can be observed throughout the year in agricultural lands, urban areas, forests surrounding satoyama, residential areas, etc. I make a nest on a utility pole etc and breed. In recent years the number has increased.

Characteristic

It has a total length of 45 cm. It is the same color in both sexes.
From the head to the upper face below the back, from the chest to the chest, from the buttocks to the bottom tube, the neck is black. The first row wind cut is white and the feather edge is black. The shoulder feathers and belly are also white. The wing has a blue shiny. The tail has shininess such as purple, green, blue and the middle pair is a particularly long convex tail. The beak and leg are black and the iris is dark.

Habit

They live in urban areas such as agricultural lands from urban areas to near the foot of mountainous areas. Many people live in small groups except breeding season. I am omnivorous and eat a kind of acorns in a group of the crowace family. Make a large nest in which branches of trees are assembled like a ball in the vicinity of the top of the utility woods and utility poles.

distribution

Located in agricultural lands such as the northwestern part of Kyushu centering on the Saga plain and Chikushi plain as shimo birds, shrine forests, miscellaneous trees and the like locally. It is said that this species has been brought in from the Korean Peninsula to the 17th century (the role of Keicho Bunroku). In recent years, although it is local, it also extends its habitat to Fukui, Ishikawa, Toyama, Niigata, Yamagata and Hokkaido.
It lives in part of the Kamchatka Peninsula, China, Eurasia Continent, (including the whole of Europe), around Morocco, near the Red Sea outlet.

Other

"Kakashakasha" cried out with a hoarse voice, which he heard as "winning", and it was regarded as a croquet and was auspicious bird. In addition, it is thought that its existence was known in the Heian period, because "in the evening you can see the frost on the bridge that can be passed by the bridge, you can wear it at night". There is no song about に in the Manyoshu but is it useful for estimating the arrival time?
As an episode, there was a story that a young man from Saga went on to university in Tokyo, surprised as "Crow is black", and surroundings were also surprised.
