Description
This tomb is located at the tip of a hill extending north from Koniyama. The altitude is about 30 m, occupies a location that overlooks the Ioro in the middle of the river, and is famous as the earliest keyhole-shaped tumuli of the Munakata area. Confirmation survey was conducted from 1986 to 1988, and it was found that the mound length of 64.4 m, the main body was a clay pot, and inside contained a decked bamboo coffin. Although it was under thorough stolen digging, sling balls, pipe balls, iron fragments etc were excavated from the hole of the stealing. It is covered with slimy green with two adjacent circular tombs, and is preserved under the present condition.
