Places and times seen in Munakata city
It is a traveling bird in Munakata, and it can be observed during the migration period (April to May, October). If anything, there are many spring migratory periods. There are examples of past observation records in rural areas, Munakata Oshima, and Munakata Okinoshima.
Characteristic
The total length is 15 to 16 cm. It is about the size of a sparrow and has the same color.
In Natsuha, the chest turns orange brown or reddish brown from the face. The lower surface below the belly is pale orange brown. There are dark brown vertical spots from the top to the back, and four light brown streaks on the back. Wings and tail are dark brown, and feathers are light orange brown. There are grayish brown vertical spots on the side. The first row winds are covered by three rows.
The heel is dark brown and the lower heel and legs are orange-brown.
Habit
They live in farmland, grassland, turf, landfills, and many live in small groups. Walk with the tail feathers up and down and eat insects and spiders. “Twee” sounds like a white-eye.
distribution
It lives on farmland, grassland, landfills, riverbeds, etc., as traveling birds or winter birds. It is hardly seen in snowy areas.
It breeds in the northern part of the Eurasian continent and overwinters in western Japan, the South China Sea, Sumatra Island, and the central part of the African continent (Congo River Basin).
