Places and times seen in Munakata city

It is a winterbird and can be seen from October to March. In winter you can see it all over Munakata city.
It is also seen in reservoir ponds in other areas of the dam lake, the river middle stream area.

Characteristic

Total length 59 cm. It is the most representative duck, and it has many numbers.
The male is a yellow beak with a head on the green, a white ring on the neck, and the breast is a grape color. The body is grayish white, the surroundings of the tail are black, and the tail feathers are white.
Female is whole body brownish.

Habit

It can be seen in rivers, ponds, inland bays and the like. In the daytime rest on a waterside with a wide water surface, and in the evening catch food at agricultural lands. Eat plant seeds and heading.
