Excavation survey was carried out with remnants of Takada ruins from 1985 to 1986 along with the construction of the residential land of the Watanabata ridge. During the Kofun period, the keyhole-shaped tumuli, the circular tomb, and the dwelling group from the 6th to the 7th century were investigated, and the 6 tumuli including the keyhole-shaped tumuli were preserved locally. The group that continued making cotton and tombs would have lived a relatively stable life with agricultural base as the lowland of Abashiri Valley.
