Coastal deciduous shrubs in warm areas. Young branches and leaves have soft hairs dense and velvety texture. Petals are wavy white, they are wider than common Naga bamboo strawberries, and five petals appear to overlap. Fruits are ripe to orange yellow and can be eaten.
Munakata grows in Oshima. However, although it looks alike, there are also Hamakishigo (Hachijo strawberry × Naga bamboi strawberry) with almost no hair and stinging, so it is necessary to observe the characteristics well. Flower season April
