Places and times seen in Munakata city
In Munakata, it is a stray bird and is observed very rarely. It has been observed to some extent in Sogo Okinoshima until now.
Characteristic
It has a total length of 14 cm to 16 cm.
Males are pale gray from the top of the head, white from the forehead to the forehead, white on the lower surface below the eyelids, overeye lines, part of the cheeks, and wings blackish brown. The chest is pale yellow from the throat.
In females, the overeye line is pale orange-brown, and cheeks have fine pale brown spots.
Both males and females are white from the upper and lower tails. The central tail feather pair is black in 1/5, the tip 2/3 of the outer tail feather 5 is black, and the base is white.
Habit
It flies to the rough land of bare land, bare land, grassland, agricultural land and so on. Eat insects and spiders while bouncing around the earth. It sometimes sits on top of a mass of soil, but does not stay high compared to other Sabakukitaki.
distribution
It is a stray bird, although it is localized, it has been observed almost all over the country. In particular, there are many observation records at small islands on the Japan Sea side.
It breeds on the Eurasian continent (up to eastern Europe), Alaska, and the northern coast of Canada, and winters in central Africa.
