Places and times seen in Munakata city
In Munakata, there are opportunities to observe in wood birds from around November to around March, around Satoyama, residential areas and park forests, but a few flying and observation opportunities are limited.
Characteristic
Total length 24 cm. It is about the same size as thrush.
Male is forehead brown from the forehead with a body upper side, and it is slightly dark from the face to the chest. The wind and the tail are pale brownish brown, with the middle tail from the abdomen to the white tail and the olive brown axillary spots on the bottom tail.
Females are obscure brown spots and thin, white. The throat is light brown and the jaw line is olive brown.
The beak is dark brown, the lower beak, the eyelid rings cover brown, and the feet become dark or orange brown.
Habit
They live in flatlands and mountain forests. Although I live by one pair, I also observe a small group in the migration yellow in autumn. Predate earthworms and insect larvae from under the fallen leaves and the soil. I also eat tree nuts.

The distribution is also limited worldwide, breeding also ranges from the Kuril Islands, Southern Karafuto to Hokkaido, Tohoku region in the range of summer birds. It winter over from the southern part of Honshu to the Nansei Islands, Taiwan, Fujian Province of China, Guangdong Province (including Hong Kong), Philippines and others.
